I had Mr Spiechert for English in Grade 11, this was back in 1975. Since he had no rating, on this system, I decided that he should get one. He really was the best english teacher I had.

Vlad Speichert was the greatest teacher I ever had. I had him as an English teacher two years out of five, and for two more years, I spent my study periods auditing his class whenever possible. I think he recognised in me a love of literature, of culture and ideas in general. He encouraged me in this, he made it clear that I was worthy of respect - and boy, did he make me work hard. He made clear the standard he expected of me, and if I turned in a substandard paper, it was graded accordingly. Thank god Mr. Speichert was placed in my path. He brought the humankind's beauty into my life.
