I had Ms. Beaton-Pigeon when I was in the second grade, later for school extra help and choir. I am now 24 years old, and I still think of her as one of the greatest teachers I have ever had. I was going through a fair bit at home at the time, and was not the best student in elementary school. I had many teachers question my intellectual capacity, but not her. Ms. Beaton-Pigeon showed me that she had faith in my potential and over time, I started to believe it too. I have gone on to receive an undergraduate degree, with one of the highest averages in my graduating class, and am now completing a Master's degree in a highly competitive program. I share this all to describe what an impact an elementary school teacher can have. I hope that she knows what a special lady she is.
