Mrs. Coons was the most wonderful teacher I ever met! She was very warm and friendly, very knowledgeable, and deeply human! She laughed quite readily, and still managed to maintain a respectful atmosphere in her classroom. I could joke with her and there was never any loss of dignity or respect. I regret not being able to thank her for our English classes, now that I have published two books of poetry. I am preparing another manuscript and will definitely dedicate it to her, in memoriam! W.
