I have always been terrified of school. I don't have many friends and I often find it difficult to complete work in class. I've been working so hard on myself this year and I have my goals in check. I want to be a primary school teacher. I signed up for the aps course (anthropology, psychology, sociology) in hopes to learn more about people and maybe how and why my mind woks the way it does. I decided to take the college level opposed to the university because I know I'm a slower learner. When ms fonseca came in she reminded me of myself. She was sensitive but fun and fairly knowledgeable. Now, I expected the course to start with a very detailed definition of each of the three lenses as well as an explanation of how to identify which is which and why. From day one she sort of expected us to know most of the terms and didn't spend more than 4-6 minutes going over a theorist and their theory. I was getting several assignments and then told about more. Ms.Fonseca overestimated the class and constantly made rude remarks to us about failing and being lazy and stupid. This wasn't tuff love, I know this because I would of appreciated tuff love. To speed this up...later in the year we were told to reduce most of the assignments we had done throughout the year. I was so desperate for Marks that I redid all of my work from the year and gave it back to her. That same week, a student, who never came to class, managed to steal ms fonsecas cellphone. The following class we were assigned a surprise test on stuff we never learned, and then she told us she didn't care. We were going to be given packages for he remainder of the year and she assured us that she isn't doing anything illegal...I brought this issue up with my principal. I feel very mistreated. My principal had many meeting and couldn't make time to sit in on my class. At the end of the week I handed in all my work and she replied to me by saying she has accepted a job offer at another school and she only had three hours to decide. That was going to be her last day. She then reassured us that she would mark EVERYTHING and meet with the new teacher to discuss marks. Over a month ago I received my report card that displayed 82% to 85% in all my classes except aps. Ms fonseca put my mark at a 39% and never met with my new teacher. She took my assignments and I've never seen them since. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed in her collective punishment method and frustrated that the school has no interest in helping me get Mark's back at least as I did complete that work for a second time. I'm here to put my mind at ease that even though this is just one review, maybe another principal or someone else will look at this situation and see something very unjust as I have.
