She is an amazing teacher, though quite strict. Those who want an easy mark out of English are going to have lots of difficulty if they don't start trying. She can tell when you try, and she will boost your mark if you improve throughout the year. An amazing teacher, and probably the best English teacher I've encountered.

As a student in her classes: fair, but strict to an almost unreasonable degree. All students evenly graded, but marks universally low even for work above average standard. As a former student: incisive commentary and a demand for excellence. Could be terrifying as a teacher, but remembered as the best teacher of my 24-year-long academic career.
