Our daughter attended this private academy from Grade 8 - 11. The school is spotless and well organized. Not many classes are offered other than the basic requirements needed for graduation along with choral , drama and band which most are mandatory. Our problem with this school was the inconsistency of teaching and punishment. If you are a doctor or lawyer or donate large sums of money towards the school, then your daughter will be fine. If not, watch out! Our daughter was brow beaten many times, brought into the office on several occasions for speaking her mind or having an opinion. During awards season, our daughter was in contention for her favorite sport badminton. Since she was the only student who never missed a practices or game (which was a condition to winning this year end award) it was assumed by all the class and my daughter that she would win the badminton player of the year award. FiRST time in Rivier Academy history, the school did not present an award in that category!! My daughter also text a "Dr's daughter" after school hours, a joke that all the girls in the class and our daughter was suspended 1 day for "misuse of technical support device". This Dr daughter also went on to win "most achieved student" award after many students had complained to teachers how she was using her cell phone and water bottles to cheat on exams with! For $1300 you can send your daughter to this school and your daughter will be berated, demeaned and end up with zero confidence level afraid to speak her mind! Our daughter is finishing her grade 12 year at a co ed high school with an average 15% higher than what it was during Rivier Academy days, going to the gym and who is full of life and has a great self confidence level! Best thing we ever did is pull her from Rivier Academy! Im sure ol sister mary never expected my daughter to be accepted and attending college in the fall, but the sad thing is she wouldn't have the common courtesy to congratulate my daughter either!!
