John Hockley

Mrs. McKelvie-Donner was my grade 4 teacher in the early 80's. She was, and remains not only my favourite teacher from all of my schooling years, but gave me ambition, and hope. She influenced me like no other teacher before or after her. She is a remarkable person, and I am honoured to have had her as a teacher. I have some very fond memories of grade 4 and it is all thanks to my classmates, but mostly to her. My love for music stems from her, as she played guitar for us kids in the classroom, now I play and teach guitar myself. She played music from the Beatles, which remains one of my all time favourite bands, and I remember her being fair with us, which I teach the same thing to my children. Thank you Brenda for believing in me, and not giving up when I needed you. God Bless you. John Hockley
