From parent's perspective, he works hard, goes above and beyond the call, and is very communicative about your child's progress and issues. No surprises. From child's perspective, he was loved and our kids wanted to work hard for him and not disappoint him.

Parent of Monsieur
Children speak French constantly in his class. Our child's reading score more than doubled because it was clear that reading was a top priority. Homework was consistent throughout the year. We had interviews and were very pleased that he took the time (almost 2 hours!) to go through everything and explain how we could improve our son's reading and writing abilities. Our child has made huge gains in his class. It is also clear that he expects a certain level of behaviour and will work very hard alongside your child to change this. Have a great summer Monsieur!

Parents
Not your average primary teacher. Takes his job very seriously. Constantly communicates with parents. As parents it is clear what is going on in the classroom on a consistent basis. Does not sugarcoat anything. If there is a problem he will contact you and set up a meeting. Some parents found his expectations too high; our child was constantly engaged and wanted to work hard. It is clear that reading, writing and math are priorities in his classroom. Makes parent communication and organization priorities.

A Parent
I am tired of walking by classes with teachers being afraid to discipline fairly students or ensure they are not fooling around. Students are always on task in his class. There are consistently high expectations for behaviour and for academic success and students are motivated to learn and become better.

Parent with two children
It is clear that he lays out his expectations in a straight-forward fashion. He is available to communicate when there is an issue to discuss. It is also clear that students are expected to work with consistently high expectations. We did not necessarily agree with some of the marks around reading on our child's report card but to his credit he did sit us down and explain to us thoroughly why our son received a low mark. He did meet with us on a regular basis to provide us updates on how he was doing and provided us with extra materials and feedback. We did find our child's report card direct and straight-forward.
