I thoroughly enjoyed Mrs. Alizadeh's class. I am VERY happy I studied Grade 12 University chemistry with her. I had no knowledge of Chemistry and Mrs. Alizadeh made the subject very easy to understand. If you do the homework questions, every day, and follow the examples, you will get an easy A. She doesn't put trick questions or purposely try to confuse you. The only criticism I have of her teaching is when she asks students to go up to the blackboard and write out their answers from the homework. This de-motivates students to try their hardest as all this does is embarrass students. She needs to ask students WHICH questions they felt were hardest and only cover the answers for those questions. There is no need to go over EACH question every class - this also wastes class time when she should be covering the next topic and moving along... She will help you if you ASK for it and request extra time outside of class. She will answer emails promptly and needs the class to be quiet while she teaches. Students can text, email, read, smoke, etc. but they must do it OUTSIDE of class! All in all, she makes chemistry fun and easy (especially for those of us who find the subject/content hard). She requires that you actively teach yourself and rely on your notes and not ask her too many questions. She likes it when you teach yourself and study independently through GOOD note-taking and homework assignments. She is a VERY easy marker for presentations. Mrs. Alizadeh is my favorite teacher at the Adult Education Centre. Overall, she is an easy and very fair marker. Take chemistry with her at the Adult Ed, you won't regret it!
