VIU is making a big mistake having John teach 4th year CYC. He is teaching alone and therefore teaches from a authoritarian perspective, having no other instructor to balance his style. He does not follow CYC principles when instructing, does not clarify what he expects regarding assignments, he favors a few students and is rude to the rest, has been more than 4 weeks late returning assignments. Many students go into his classes with A averages and come out barely passing with C+'s, ruining their chances when applying for higher education. I will not be continuing to masters degree because of this instructor, there are many others in my class who feel the same way. VIU would be smart to have this man undergo assessment from his students and peers, they are losing a lot of money and credibility having this guy teaching at VIU.
