she's the worst. She rationalized reasoning of why her answers were right when they were actually wrong. She screamed and berated students for no reason. Students with exceptional intellectual ability were neglected and questions not attended to. Spent most of her time screaming at students and getting frustrated. That's not how information is transfered from teacher to student. Teaching takes alot of patience and i have the utmost respect for all teachers who have it. She does not have an ounce of patience nor intellect. She touts her own horn about her research and this and that. Its embarrassing for someone of her age and stature to be looking towards children for self gratification and verification. she's got issues with anger and some have suspected she may have bi-polar disorder. Im not one to make claims that someone may have a mental disability but it is something worth checking if i were her. It horrifies the very fibers of my being knowing that she teaches young intellectuals and poisons them with her lack of thought and her horrendous speech.

The
Absolutely terrible as a teacher and as a person. Not only does she teach with the strictness of a drill sergeant, but she intimidates students and discourages participation. She is hypocritical in every possible way. She preaches how "teachers are on your [the student's] side" yet fails to engage in the material with her class and inundates students with heavy and annoying assignments and pressure. She will repeatedly remind you that she is "not a tutor" and instead a "teacher" despite failing to fulfill either role. Favoritism and heavy bias are also rampant in her classes, with her giving out better marks for the students she likes and scrutinizing ones she dislikes or is having trouble within her class. In order to marginally succeed in her classes, one is recommended to purposefully laugh at her jokes and wish her good morning/good afternoon. She insists that "teachers always get blamed for everything" but she is the only teacher complaining about that. Instead of being understanding to students, she goes on her way to being pretentious and souring her students' entire morning or afternoon. In addition, even though she herself is not understanding of students, she expects the students themselves to be understanding to her. Her professionalism is outstandingly disappointing, with her mood affecting how she teaches and treats students. Any excitement for learning shown in students will be expunged due to her emotions getting the best of her. If you are curious or have any questions, have an answer ahead of time. If you do not have an answer, she will chastise you for not knowing and will put you on the spot, doing her best to embarrass you in front of the class and making you feel miserable. When she does finally explain to you the answer, it is oftentimes absolutely incorrect or irrelevant to the initial inquiry. If students do have an answer to their own question, she will still nitpick out anything that is marginally incorrect and then berates them for it. Either way, students are conditioned to not participate in class. Despite this environment she fosters, she still expects students to ask questions and will complain if no questions are asked. Furthermore, she constantly reminds the class of their inadequacies, making comments about how certain material is below the current learning grade one is in. In her classes, you are expected to learn the entirety of the lesson before she teaches it. If you do not understand everything beforehand using the slideshows she provides, she will berate you during the lesson she herself should be teaching. Her toxic mentality leads her to believe that if one person does not understand the material, it is significant enough of a sample size to represent the remainder of the class. This inaccurate assumption is the result of the aforementioned non-participatory environment. One of the most frustrating aspects of her class is her expectations. If you do not use blue ink, she gets angry. Black ink is also fine, but she will still passively-aggressively comment on how you should use blue ink instead. If you spell her name wrong she will jeer at you. If you look up to the board to check the date, she will criticize you. If you use whiteout, she will feel obligated to begin a rant. If you do not come early for classes or if you do not attend extra help sessions, she will think less of you. Finally, it is especially evident in the assignments that she gives that there are hidden expectations that will cost students their marks. Students will only realize this after receiving feedback with a poor or failing grade. May the Fates spin their threads in your favor. May Apollo's chariot shine bright on you during her classes. "Good luck" is a phrase that should be uttered in these trying times, but students of her class will require far more than mere luck. You have been warned.

If you have any courses with her, I am here to give you my regrets. In all seriousness, several major errors make her the absolute worst teacher in this school. Combining anger, impatience, and unfairness, her class will almost certainly become the least favorite class of your semester. It is evident that there are hidden expectations that will cost you your mark, along with your patience and sanity. I assure you the other reviews are not wrong. She has the biggest superiority complex in the entire department, viewing students as mere devices for bragging and boasting. Her limited but extremely biased favoritism is a major problem in her classes, as she only devotes herself to those that can memorize the entire human genome, down to the last genetic strand. Worse yet, she tolerates the mistakes of those close to her (e.g. family members) but heavily berates the slightest errors performed by students. This is arguably the biggest problem in and of itself, as she lacks the patience to teach students that are learning and absorbing new material. She is a subpar teacher which was the biggest disappointment of the semester. Her mood rapidly changes, making her entire class unprofessional. Her fiery temper combined with her ironic effort to remain the highest is comedic yet entirely sad. This tolerance for different people is what makes it frustrating, and you will almost certainly see a large jump between grades (sometimes 60s, sometimes 90s). She brushes off the importance of the grades that the universities require, making your chance of acceptance in biology-related fields much more difficult. Along with the terrible marks that biology can give, her marking has indeed made some people fail for half of the semester. Bias aside, she is indeed knowledgeable in her field. Despite her vast knowledge, however, she has a major problem of not accepting the mistakes that she made. Worse yet, her knowledge does not correlate to her ability to teach. These two factors are essential to becoming a teacher, but the absence of this combination makes the class volcanic. I kid you not, she once claimed "all mammals are fish, and all fish live in the water". This level of insanity is going to be experienced daily, and you will cherish the days when a supply substitutes. There are very rare moments when she is happy, but those moments are in the millionth percentile compared to the regular days. Here are a few major problems simplified, as I would write a whole novel if I went into detail about each of her issues: 1. She has no patience and yells at students. 2. She has the belief in superiority, respecting those above her but berating those below her. 3. Her knowledge does not reflect her ability to teach nor empathize with students. 4. Her mood changes rapidly, leading to an unprofessional class. 5. She calls people out in class, humiliating them and preventing them from participating further. 6. She demands BLUE INK. If there is no blue ink written on your test, you will receive a zero or redo. More often than not, it's the former. Just don't take this class, it's too much effort. More trouble than it is worth, and you're better off taking summer school biology. To take this course and miss out on multiple opportunities, this class is sadder than a Shakespearian tragedy. Unless you genuinely know the whole content of biology like the back of your hand, prepare for the class well. Even those who are well prepared will meet unfavorable circumstances, more often than not.

Looking at the few reviews on this page already, her teaching and demeanour have lasted throughout her 22 years of teaching. In addition to the above critiques, she also has a bias towards male students. This is especially prevalent when she makes jokes or casual conversation to male students while showing distain for the behaviour of female students of the same class. Throughout an entire semester, she has favoured and coddled this student, claiming, “I know you’re a good person, you just have to believe it”. This particular student hardly shows up on time, consistently forgets his textbook, and never pays attention. You will never catch her saying that to one of the few female students whom she dislikes for using their cellphones occasionally in class but is otherwise following the lesson.
